How do Korean Blanket Sizes Compare with Australian Bed Sizes?

Korean bedding sizes are different from Australian standard bed sizes because the two countries use different mattress dimensions and bedding standards. In this guide, we'll compare Korean and Australian bedding sizes and help you choose the right Korean blanket for your Australian bed.

Why Blanket Sizes Can Be Confusing

One of the common questions at our store is about how Korean blankets can fit Australian beds. Korean manufacturers name the bed sizes differently and Australia uses different mattress dimensions too. Moreover, the preferred bed sizes are different between these two countries. Here is a summary of bedding sizes in comparison.

Korean Bedding Sizes

Korean Bedding  Mattress Size Blanket Size
SS 110 x 200 cm  160 x 210 cm
Q 150 x 200 cm 190 x 210 cm
K 160 x 200 cm 200 x 230 cm
LK 170 x 200 cm 200 x 230 cm
EK 180 x 200 cm 200 x 230 cm

By looking at the table above, the biggest mattress size is 180 x 200cm in Korea. Yet, compared with SS and Q sizes, larger sizes such as K, LK and EK are not commonly available in Korea due to lower demand. This could be quite opposite to what's forecasted in Australia.

Market research suggests that demand for king-size mattress in Australia is expected to grow steadily over the coming years, driven by consumers seeking more sleeping space, greater comfort and luxury bedding options. [Source : Mattress Market (2026 - 2033)]

To better meet Australian customer preferences, we've expanded our range of Korean bedding designed to fit Australian King beds.

Queen 153 x 203 cm 210 x 210 cm

Our Recommendations

Choosing the right blanket size depends on your preferred amount of coverage. If you enjoy a little extra drape over the sides of the bed, you may prefer a larger size.

  • Australian Single, King Single and Double - Our SS size is generally suitable. However, please note that the SS blanket is slightly shorter than a standard Australian Double blanket.
  • Australian Double and Queen - Our size is generally the best choice and provides comfortable coverage for both bed sizes.
  • Australian Queen and King - Our size is suitable for both. However, please note that it is slightly shorter than a standard Australian King Blanket.
  • Australian King - if you prefer more generous coverage, we recommend our Custom Order King (240 x 210cm) blanket.
  • Australian Super King - We're working on to provide Custom Order service for Super King size in Australia for our customers looking for larger bedding options.

Do Blanket Sizes Have to Match Mattress Size?

Not necessarily. Blankets are usually larger than the mattress to provide better coverage, comfort and a more attractive drape.

For this reason, blanket dimensions are usually larger than mattress dimensions in both Korea and Australia.

When choosing a blanket, consider:

  • How much coverage you prefer - Some people like the blanket to drape generously over the sides of the bed, while others prefer a neater fit.
  • Whether you share the bed  - Couples often prefer a slightly larger blanket for added comfort.
  • Bed room style  - Select the size and designs to create great mood.
